Denca was again asked to support a major upgrade to the Jam Cooking Facility at Duerr’s in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester.
Duerr’s are the oldest family-owned jam maker in England and so a state-of-the-art upgrade for their preservatives manufacturing was planned. For the update, two new cookers where installed along with new process automation.
Denca got to work by designing the automation and preparing the custom software for the new cookers.
The old system was removed in a planned shutdown and the new hardware incorporated into the upgrade. New PLC’s, SCADA, Sensors and Instrumentation were all fitted in a tight schedule.
Denca commissioned the new system and provided traceable calibration records for all the process critical instrumentation. We also provided standby support to ensure the transition brought minimal disruption to production.
As a result of the work done by Denca, Duerr’s improved jam cooking facility provides them even tighter control of the cooking process. Projected production increases will ensure Duerr’s continue to meet and exceed their customers’ requirements.
This will maintain the supremacy of their jam and keep Duerr’s name synonymous with high quality and popular produce.
