On Saturday 18th June, 11 adventurous members of the Denca team took on the challenge of climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). At 1085m (3560ft), Snowdon is the tallest mountain in England & Wales.
Our hikers woke up bright and early and left Denca HQ at 6:00 am. We were hoping for a clear route all the way to the top.
Arriving at the Pen-y-Pass to ascend the ‘Pyg Track’, the weather held out and the conditions were perfect for a hike.
Our early start meant the path wasn’t busy. Our team completed a commendable 5 miles in distance and 2,300 ft in elevation to reach the summit. There were some excellent photo opportunities.
After the descent, we retired to the bar for some well-earned refreshment.
It was a successful trip all around.
The opportunity for some team building was not missed and it was great that employees from varied departments, were able to meet up and enjoy some extracurricular activity, achieving a common goal.
Well done to our team. This was the first time something like this has been completed by Denca but we look forward to doing more in the future.
