In previous Cable articles news and information about Denca’s new workshop have been shared but there is more to tell.
Our new 8500ft² workshop gives opportunities to deliver a much more integrated approach. For certain projects, this can help to reduce costs and lower the carbon impact by mitigating transport and handling requirements.
Here is a good example of this approach in practice
The size of the workshop also allows Denca to offer an enhanced range of services across our Control Panels division. As well as standard panels, we now have the capability to manufacture larger systems. We are also building modular process skids and container control rooms. We have completed several projects since the move into the new workshop last Summer.
The 5-tonne overhead crane can access all parts of the workshop. This gives us the means to handle the larger and heavier units easily and safely. Customers can now deliver fabricated steel-work or a shipping container. Transport can simply reverse into the building to be offloaded, this eliminates the need for HIABs and Forklift Trucks.
Increased capacity – better service
We now have the space to build up to ten Motor Control Centres simultaneously at the Hutchinson Street works. In the six months following our move in May 2019 Denca has manufactured more MCCs than at the previous Waterloo Road site.
We are building panels in containers and skids for the first time and are looking to win more orders from customers old and new for these larger builds. Of course, it goes without saying that Denca still has the strong desire to continue manufacturing the smaller Control Panels that we always did before; it’s just that we can offer more to our clients.
Customers and potential customers are always welcome to visit us and see for themselves what we have to offer.
